They actually sell DDR500 memory on newegg, however technically it's just overclocked DDR400 RAM.

Ok well im done arguing the point cuz you obviously dont understand and i wish that someone else with knowledge would back me up on this.

But if you really wanna think that every single RAM company lies about what they are selling, then you believe that. I was just tryin to help someone understand what DDR is. No, i dont know EVERYTHING about DDR but i know alot, and obviously alot more then you.

Oh and another thing, what was just posted compares single channel and dual channel DDR, that has nothing to do with the speeds just the bandwidth. Thought you might wanna know that. Yes, comparing dual channel ddr to single, it is only the bandwidth that is doubled (in my case it only went up from 2.2gb/s to 3.2gb/s so not really doubled but hella better) . But would someone like to tell me what that has to do with anything we are discussing? We are discussing that DDR is double pumped multiplying the clock speed by 2. And it doesnt say that DDR400 chips are 100mhz, it says DDR at 100mhz, there is no 400, so it is most likely talkin about DDR200.

Would you still like to explain to me then why every DDR400 ram says it runs at 400mhz? Or it will say 200 x 2.

Im not sure if you guys can read what im typing or not, but as it ALSO says in that site, if you would read, it says that the ram is double pumped which we have gone over and over on this and you still arnt getting it. 200mhz x 2. Its not that hard of a concept to understand. I understand it all just fine, they are posting the actual clock speed, not the multiplied speed.

And bobo iv seen your track record of being right and i gotta tell you it doesnt look very good.........

In any case, i DO know what im talking about whether any of you understand what i am trying to say i will make it as clear as possible

There is a simple way to do this. Download CPUZ and check your memory frequency...

Well #1, a lot is 2 separate words. #2. The pronoun I is capitalized. #3. No RAM company is lying about what they sell. #4. You may or may not know more than I do about the RAM itself, but in this case you are dead wrong.

Oh really....you have been here for not even a month, and I have been a member for almost 2 years now. Sure I have been wrong before. But personal insults aren't really a good idea, especially when you are on the losing side.

Why do you keep trying to explain it incorrectly when Wikipedia does such a fine job?

The RAM is NOT, I repeat, NOT running at 400MHz. It is running at 200MHz, but "acting like" it is running at 400MHz, because it is dual-pumped. Do you get this? It is "acting like" it is. BUT IT ISN'T ACTUALLY.

Do you not see "behaves like"????? IT IS NOT 266MHz. IT BEHAVES LIKE 266MHz. There is a big difference there.

Do you see where it says 400mhz? Tell me why it says that if its not true. If they were saying that and its not true, thats a lawsuite which companies like that wouldnt risk. Im not sure why you cant understand it. But after this i give up. That would be like Intel tryin to sell cpus that SAY they run at 2ghz when really they run at 1ghz. Doesnt make sense does it? And its illegal.
 
Download CPUz and see what your RAM is running at. That should tell us everything we need to know...
