Go to crappy and look in auto-section. I've used rustoleum before.

Read the cans of krylon fusion they may work too on plastic and/or metal.

well you will need to look for paint that says it will work with aluminum (or whatever your case in made out of.

Most cases are aluminum, some are steel.

There is a process to go about this similar to how a car would be done that would cost like $20 total. It just invovles some time, sanding, and quality paint.

If it is anything like painting a car then it involves a spray gun and expensive paint. You are probably just talking about a rattle can job.

First sand it down or sand blast it will be much faster and will do a better job, use a primer wait 1 hour or so do 1st coat of whatever color repaint if needed. Use a spray gun and a compressor. Why I say a spay gun well it paints evenly don't have to worry of over painting it. I would use a car paint it can get expensive tho it depends if you want to pay that much but at the end you will have that effect you are wanting. Spray gun gives you a even coverage and the outcome will be much better and it will look alot nicer then if you were gonna use a spray can, plus with spray can you will need to get caps for it. Check below to see how he painted it and what he used. One more thing if this is you first time spay painting then I would wait until you know something about it. I would first get ur old case that if you have a old case you don't use and work with that.

If you dont want to waste alot on it or dont have the supplies go with a case film they got tons of colors, carbon fiber, with flakes without. Here is the link. Check bottom of site it has the film, there are also video of how they put it on and before and after looks kinda neat. Hope this helps.

I was just looking at spray paint to day. Most will list materials that they will work on. Most will say "metal" which should cover a computer case. Just sand a little, add a primer coat, and then a few coats of paint, or until it looks nice.

Awesome post! This makes me want to get back into computer modding, lol. Great lesson too. You can use it on pretty much anything metal.

Thank You, I love how they mod I get most of my ideas from them. I kinda learning on airbrushing and I want to airbrush a case in the future. Some of these people are extremely talented, Two Thumbs Up to them keep doing what you guys do.

Yeah, i have been watching the rest of their videos. Good stuff. I really want to build a computer now. Now that I have all the tools and fab skills from working on my jeep I have a lot of great ideas on case modding. All I need is an extra grand laying around

This is awesome! Thanks very much. I will take a look at the video when I get home as my work blocks off a lot of sites (youtube is one). This would be my first case painting. I have an Antec 900, I basically just wanted to make the inside and back black and through some blue cold cathode lights on each side at the top. Maybe when I go home for Thanksgiving I'll grab an old comp from the basement and try it out on that one first. I'll try to post some pictures if I get it done and it looks nice!

Thanks again :)

I have heard that a good sanding combined with a foam brush and rustoleum paint works well, the kind in the can that u aint on, take it slow and cover it evenly. If you have access to a spray gun its even better. If not i would recommend the rustoleum spray paint, but MAKE SURE to sand and primer it before, or the paint is going to flake.

awsome sight man

I used Plastikote on mine, I did about 10 coats in total I think... I also have the Antec 900.

This is how it came out;

Im using rustoleum right now, and the primer dries in about 15 mins so it can be touched. Not bad. But the actual color takes way longer to dry, and when doing a big project with multiple coats, it can take a while. Specially if you are aiming for a nice finished look.

My favorite paint to use, and I used it when I painted my uni rim, is Krylon. Dries really fast, so it keeps most projects will only take a full day for completion.

Sand blasting if alot faster and you'll get get every spot even the tricky corners of inside the case, using sand paper will take ages.
