The new x1900XTX!!

Well i found a card that can easily beat a 7800GTX 512mb. And its the x1900 series :D

Specs:
512MB GDDR3
650Mhz Core / 1550Mhz Memory
48 Pipelines

There are a few versions, the x1900XT which has 625Mhz/1450Mhz is $763, and the x1900XTX with 650Mhz/1550Mhz is $871.

In a benchmark test that has an FX-55 and the x1900XT (both stock), got a score of ~11200 in 3DMark05.

One site said it was 719 pounds... Thats more then $1200!!!

yeah..i wonder how many actually ppl are gonna get that card, I mean, serioiusly, 1200 for just a graphics card, many ppl may 1200 for their entire computer!.

question for you guys..

going from the system that i have now..

would you rather do the following with your money?

get:

1) the logitech z-5500's

2) a new LCD (940b, vx922) .. (i have a 15.5" viewable CHEAP CRT right now..)

3) save and get one of these next-gen graphics cards?

.. about #3.. i'm not really happy with the performance of my gt.. so keep that in mind....

get the LCD
y arent you happy with the gt? the gt is an exelent card that can hanlde everygame on the market right now at medium to high settings.
also the new card is way too expensive..you could get another 7800gt and the LCD for about the same price..

for one, aoe3 runs like crap comparted to a gtx.

another thing is i want to be able to run everything at high... not medium.. (fear as an example)

realistically it's between the speakers and the lcd, but that's an entire different topic that would be hijacking this thread :P

however, more views are welcome between the 3, though..

edit: mr. suave, do you see any ghosting with your 924? what games do you play?

TBH i dont really care, they release them so soon after the last one that its nothign special anymore, oh w00t 48 pipes, cos we didnt see that one coming..... I just let them keep rolling out of the production line and into the shops to drive the price of "sensible" cards down so people with "normal" budgets can buy them

And i know everyones gonna turn round and shout at me now but i dont care, free speech and all that, evreyones got an opinion.......

dragon2309 :D

Haha the only thing that matters for me when a new card comes out, is that the older "greatest card to have" drops in price like dragon said. The 7800GTX is still a very nice card. Wish I has money for a system with a x1900 :(

Oh yeah.. ATI´s x1900 will have slighty better IQ because of 48 vertexes but if it has only 16 pipes it´s crap...slighty better IQ isn´t exactly enought this days..There must be some pipes involved..?
7900 will outperform it easilly because I´m pretty sure that NVidia puts 4 or 8 more pipes in it..

EDIT: According to the report, the chip will contain 32 pixel-processing pipelines in a core clocked at 700-750MHz. The GDDR 3 memory will run at 800-900MHz (1.6-1.8GHz, effective).

it turns out that ati are gonna start using a different shader/pipeline ratio.... from what i've read the new nvidia is gonna be clocked at some ridiculous speed and the preproduction cards are already pulling over 13000 in 3dmark05

Aren't they using unified pipelines already? For those who haven't heard of those, they are pipelines which can be used as pixel and vertex shaders, correct me if I'm wrong.
