well, i got all the parts that i ordered from newegg today and i was extremely excited with to play with my news toys. anyways, as i put everything together and turned the system on just to get a CPU failed system check. "damn!"
so, i went thru the asus manual and it said to check that the CPU was installed properly. so, i took the heatsink and fan off the CPU. when i then took out the CPU, and looked at it more closely, i noticed that some of the pins were bent. i decided to try and straightem them all out and think i did a fairly good job of doing so, but i am affraid that i may have fried (static electricity?) my new $267 processor in the process of doing so, as i still get the same error message when trying to boot the system.
any ideas? please tell me that i am not out of my $267!
