going to put this os on a computer. how do i get drivers for it? for video card ect?
Most systems run ubuntu straight out of the box. The drivers should automatically be enabled or at least found. For the most part ubuntu has good driver support. Install the OS and see what is going on. If you are worried about installing Linux then google if your pc is supported, and see what comes up.
I would suggest running it from a Live disk first to see how you like it and if your hardware is supported well enough. You can also install it into Windows to test it in an easily removable fashion or on a spare hard drive.
Yeah that's an option. Also there is an application called "Wubi" that actually installs Ubuntu in a manner so that you can delete it right from Windows. It' installs in a folder rather than a partition I believe. I've had luck with WUBI on my netbook, so you might want to look into that.
Wubi...that's it. Yeah, that's what I was referring to.
Yeah, sorry I wasn't sure if that was what you meant by the Windows thing. I've used it multiple times, yet I've never uninstalled it. It's supposed to be able to uninstall cleanly, however, from experience I'm not sure![]()
