Unofficial Official Fallout 3 thread

im in a cave with mutated ants undernear the elementary school and i can't find anything down here... the raiders logs from the PC in the school said they were digging for something valuable but i see nothing. have any of you found anything down here?

great game so far, havent really made it that far just wandered a bit around megaton, found an old school,, creepy ass children of the corn feeling, picture this,, im about to walk through a door armed to the teeth with my
BB GUN then outa nowhere something dashes past the door spouting curse words or death at me. im like WTF! so i change to my 10mm run in the door turn to my left only to see some f***** up guy wearing spiked armour leaping at me with a combat knife!. later did i reliase that these fellas are basically fodder later on in the game, but it was my first taste of intense combat... (and man come on, taking 4 bullets to the head and still screaming at me. tough sobs. and i kno the enemies just just tougher and creeper.. cant wait!

my roommate just got this game. He's been playing it since he installed it. He freaked out yesterday because it didn't come in the mail after he selected over night shipping lol.

+1 to anyone who knows what i could possibly be doing at this tower so early in the game

*evil laugh*

The walking animation for your character is hurting. If you watch your self moving in 3rd person it's painfully bad sometimes.

I agree, I was getting tired of playing all of my games in first person. I switched to third and had to change my mind to second. Haha the game is so amazing, I couldn't let the walking hurt the experience.

And it's surprisingly easy to run. I was thinking I would need a new graphics card after playing Warhead, but I've been playing this 1440x900, 8xAA and 15xAF and I get a steady 40 fps. This is sweet.

Is the walking issue something that can be easily patched? Just curious, the game is only a day old.

flawless game so far... i particularly like the fireants... "aww cute little thing, look at his little antleOH MY GOD NO OH MY GOD "

I would vote for the latter statement. The game is amazing and the VATS system is sweet. I love it, this game destroys any RPG game this year.

It is beautiful outside here today and Halloween is this weekend, so there is a lot going on in real life that would make me not want to pay games all weekend. However, next weekend will be a different story.

I hope you can get some sort of car or motor cycle in this game, but I feel that will be for the expansion. I also can't wait until the mods come out, since Fallout 1 and 2 had so many bad ass mods!

Of course a character editor will be fun too, that way you can do whatever you want. My character is lacking hacking and science skills but his agility and combat skills are high. I have also already broken a few safes, that now are no longer pick-able.

The only thing I don't like about the game is the drawn out travel time, where as in the previous ones long travel was kind of optimized, and you didn't have to sit there and run in one direction for 15 minutes. I understand though the epic size of the game and what they were trying to accomplish.

I am about to finish the book quest. I kind of want to hurry up and beat it as the champion so I can play it again as the most evil and sadistic character ever. Evil looks so much fun in that game but I like to play through as the good guy first, and save the evil guy for the second time through.

evil pays very well. at only 6 hours in i have a penthouse suite at tenpenny towers. for those that haven't been there yet, tenpenny towers is a place that was untouched by the bombs and now rich aristocrats live there. some very evil people.... i had to do one of the most evil acts known to man to get the suite but it was worth it :P

Does it have to do with the atomic bomb? I think I know what you did to get there and I decided to play the good guy the first time through.

i don't want to spoil anything, but there is a fellow from tenpenny towers visiting megaton that looks down on all the citizens there, and he makes a proposal that is extremely hard to turn down. it starts a chain of quests that involve the tower in one way or another. all are extremely entertaining...

i haven't really left the south part of the map yet and i'm wondering where some good places to get quests are... where have you been playing ?

mostly central map around the river area and around megaton

I always get 60+ fps while playing on the highest settings, and my load times are almost instant. The load times is due to my quad core I think for the most part. I was reading that this game has multi core support, so that definitely helps. I love out cities load in literally about 10 seconds, and bam I am in the city that looks awesome!
