I want to update my graphics card, however I couldn't begin to understand how I can find which is the right fit. Does it work with my computer? Why does it cost so much? and etc... I use the http://www.systemrequirementslab.com site to see how my computer will work and my Dedicated Video RAM for my graphics card is always too low. I have 1gb currently. I show also on the site on which series are better then others, such as a Radeon R7 240 would be better, however they seem so cheap that I dont know what im really looking at. My current card isnt that expensive also. So im looking to see if I can get some help understanding what to look for, what fits in my computer and a card that is affordable ($100 maybe?). Again I dont know what is possible for pricing. Any help would be appreciated.

Also, what games are you trying to play and at what settings are you trying to achieve? I'm assuming your current monitor is 1080p. Are you planning on upgrading to 1440p or 4k anytime soon?

Hello,

What power supply do you have?
600 watts assuming I read it right. I don't have any interest in 4k. I'm playing xcom 2 and maybe some grim dawn. But i may play others as well so I couldn't tell you for the future. They work ok but chug in the 7-15 fps alot of the time.

600W doesn't mean anything. Can you see a brand on the power supply?.. a model number? If it's a cheap chinese brand that "600W" isn't gonna be remotely close to accurate.

Yowza, you'd really want to get a more quality unit than that.
It's how the computer was built. I didn't know how about finding a better card that would run those games better is it possible ?I'm not trying to get ultra settings or anything like tha.

And that is the problem, pre-built machines are trash for the most part, thats why they are usually really cheap because they are filled with cheap, off-brand parts that will fail and prevent reasonable upgrades due to falsely labelled parts.

Is a better graphics card possible without changing anything else and improving my perfermance to a degree were it is worth paying for a new card.

$100 isn't going to get you much..

What country are you in?
United states

It's hard to search on amazon because it seems like most cards are 50-100. Again I don't need a massive upgrade. Just something that would give me a decent boost, but again I don't understand graphic cards well. It wouldn't matter if I had a better power supply would it? As far as pricing for a card.

Having a better PSU has nothing to do with card pricing. Having a better PSU will keep your components running properly and lessen the likelihood of some catastrophic event happening.

This is probably more than you need, but at $130 its a good option

Well I picked the items I wanted built on like cyber power I think? What is it going to cost to get a card that will give me what I'm looking for? If u have a suggestion for which one specifically that would be helpful also.

Thank you for that. Is there some guide out there that shows here is the rankings of each graphics card out there? Or something that would be easy for the average American to follow? Thank you very much for ur help so far :). I assume that card would work with my PSU but I may want to upgrade.

I'm not American, you are all average to me. :)

@Darren is an AMD guy and one the most average Amercians I know, hopefully he can give you a bit better info!! :D

so I finally did more research and found out my graphic card is a radeon 7750 1gb pci 3.0. Im trying to see if my mother board is a 2.0 or 3.0 According to what I read the card will work but the performance can be halved due to it, but I cant see anywhere that shows that information. Is it safe to assume my computer is a 3.0
