Upgrading My PC.

With the holiday season coming soon i wanted to take the opportunity to upgrade my PC. My Overall budget is 150 dollars, what should i upgrade?

Case: Fractal Design Define R4 w/ Side Window

Mobo: Gigabyte GA-Z68X-UD3H-B3

CPU: I5-2500k not OC

Ram: Kingston HyperBlu RAM

HDD: WD Blue 1TB

GPU: 6850 Single Slot Edition

PSU:700w Extreme PowerPlus Power supply

My two monitors are OK no reason to upgrade especially with my current GPU.

Here's what i was thinking get a K90 Vengeance keyboard cause my current one is just a generic Dell keyboard. However i could get a CPU cooler and overclock it. There's always a GPU, but the 760 i was aiming for was too expensive. My PSU maybe dying as well so there's that too.

If your PSU is going out then that is a no brainer. Get the PSU replaced. I have a different view of SSDs then a lot of other people on the forum. if you only have 150 to work with I don't see a good reason to make an SSD upgrade for gaming. There isn't really a performance increase there. If you want better usability on the desktop then sure, it makes more sense.

If the focus is gaming only
PSU or heatsink and OC & new keyboard.
 
Yeah, may be, but it certainly will help with loading times on BF4 ;)

And given that the biggest bottleneck on that PC is the HD, i would be spending my money there if the PSU is ok.

Oh absolutely. I just don't see the cost being worth it for a limited budget.

EDIT Just saw the second line: yeah that is why I mentioned if the PC was gaming only- PSU or heatsink and OC & new keyboard. If it is more of a rig for everything then an SSD would be more beneficial.

I will agree, go with new PSU if the other one is going out. If the PSU is fine, then definitely go with an SSD, since a new GPU is out of the budget.
 
Alright I think i'll get an 840 EVO but can someone give me a brief description of how you do you re-install windows 7 on the ssd without losing any of my current files because i have many videos and thumbnails for Youtube that i must keep and my Borderlands 2 saves as well.

for cheap on ebay. Comes with the software to copy your installation across.
 
Quick question completely irrelevant my GPU isn't using 100% of its power. To fix it i usually take it out and put it back in but clearly that hasn't been working out.

It's not always going to go up to 100% usage when gaming.
 
I assume you have the latest drivers? What games don't use 100 percent? Never take something out and in to fix stuff, rarely works.
 
Am I the only one thinking Ebay: Gigabyte HD 6850 1GB: $90 Buy Now ($55 bid) and a CX750M or something like that?
His motherboard will run 8x 8x in CFX config. His 700W could handle it, but he's talking about it failing. If it's not, you could try and find a good deal on an SSD. If you're lucky you can find a 120GB for $60, it's seen before.
As far as I can tell, the ASUS uses a real GTX 760. It even comes with Assassins Creed 4, which the 760 does if you buy it alone.

Well now it chooses to run smoothly :/ but whatever i'll just go with it and work around it for now but thanks guys for all your help SSD here i come :)
 
I was going to get the 840 for chirstmas but i feel like im asking for too much so what are some good $100 upgrades?
 
Well here's some under 100 dollar upgrades that i thought of, which one would be the best?

1. New Mic for Youtube (Blue Yeti)
2. Replace Earcups for Turtle Beaches
3. New PSU(CX600M)
4.New Case Fans(Corsair AF Series LED)
5.Capture card which would help with recording YT videos
