hey im lookin for a video card thats 256 mb but its not too expensive cuz i dont have to much cash, if you could help me out i would appreciate it.

We need to know what slot your motherboard can support for a video card, is it?:

PCI - Usually white
AGP - Usually Brown, and a larger than PCI
PCI-E - Can be a range of colors, if you have this you should also have a slot thats around 1" long next to it.

And for a card thats under $250, I would go with the X800GTO for $170.

What brand is the 6600GT. If its XFX, from experience, id say go with them. The thing is though, most 66's have been known to have bad cooling.

Yes i know that but who makes the card itself? XFX, PNY, ASUS are all examples of who make Nvidia cards.
