New Video Card help....

I'm getting a new video card either today or tomorow. I've had three in mind, but im not sure which one outperforms the others, or would work the best with my set-up and uses.
The 3 cards are:
(all are made by ATI)
-Radeon X700 Pro Video Card, PCI Express, 256MB GDDR3 ($200)
-All-In-Wonder X600Pro Video Card, PCI Express, 256MB DDR($250)
-All-In-Wonder 9800 Pro Video Card, 8x AGP, 128MB($300)

I like the AIW features but the x700 also has an S-video out, and thats what I'm running right now. So the TV out feature is basically all I need, except the a/v input-Svideo input box on the AIW. I use my computer for video editing, gaming (like counter-strike), as my rooms multi media center(dvd, cd...)
I have some questions about the PCI cards too. Being PCI instead of AGP does that decrease the clock speed at all? and do you have to have a mobo that reads PCI Express 16x?

i like the 9800 pro - but thats just my opinion since i dont have pci x

if you have pci x - then its faster.

thanks...thats what i thought but i wasnt sure, i couldnt find any info on it in my mobo book, or on there site so i figured not.

All 3 of those cards will not perform as well as a 6600GT (stock or oerclocked). And the good thing about that card is it is AGP OR PCI-E...take your pick. It's not ATi, but compared to the X700 it performs the same and/or better, it kicks the X600 of course...(anything below an X800 that starts with an X### is a budget card...were made for people who couldn't afford an X800 or better).

The 9800 series is ancient, i wouldn't go that route. They were good cards and still overclock nicely...but for the price it's a bad deal. the 6600GT is the best price-performance card you can find right now, some are under $200.

So that's my opinion...on a ~$200 budget the 6600GT should be your choice.

Yeah you'd definitely have to decide between AGP and PCI :P

dumb question...but do I have pci X
No

Obviously as they 6600GT is a different class.... they are meant to be compared to the 6600.

Thats a snotty way of looking at it :P

that was my whole point lol. All 4 cards are ~ the same price (~$180-$200)...but the 6600GT is already an entire class of its own as far as performance. That should tell you it's the obvious choice right there (at least thats the way i look at it).

Im tracking X700Pros at $150USD

yah i see that as well. I read "all-in-wonder" so i looked up X600 AIW cards...they are like $200-$240. I guess he's not looking for an AIW X700...my bad.

either is good, with the 6x00 line the only variantions are on the cooler and sometimes the clockspeed
