Good point.Dngrsone said:... and it's a good thing that Linux has only 5% of the market because 95% of the sheep who use Linux (or would use it) would be operating out of root all the time.

I find Windows XP Pro to be the best, since it includes a built in disk-partitioning tool, better security, network logon, better GUI, and lots more.
Dont get me started on Mac, god i hate them and in my eyes can do NOTHING right, XP Pro and linux all the way.

Yeah, you can use KDE & KDE Apps for windows. You just like windows because the command prompt isnt case sensitve, or else you would have to put your education into practice.juss use xp cuz evey thing is compatable with is ok
No it doesn't, If you buy Windows XP, it comes with just windows XP, you have to buy office 2k3 seperate, some pre-built computers come wiith ti though, but thats a different story, ryunoneil said:I think Windows Xp Is the best because you get loads of good things on it like......::::: Window Office 2003 and loads of other good stuff

as for the question in hand, it is very old, so many times people have bought this up, just like the AMD/INTEL debate. Personally for ease of use in general processing it has to be Windows XP Professional. However, i am partial to linux, Mandrake 10.1 rocks and the Knoppix Live DVD is pretty good for temporary solutions. We're talking like clicking the start menu, and waiting 15 seconds for it to open, and this is on a fresh install of xp, with no internet, no additional programs nothing, just after install. IT IS NOT NICE.![]()
And may I add that there was a 900Mhz processor running this computer!![]()
Not exagerating, I'm serious! I have no clue how a 233 with 96MB of ram runs fine.tweaker said:Dont over exagerate, my 233/96MB RAM runs XP fine.![]()
