What do you do with your computer at night?

Hello Everyone,

This post may seem odd but if your reading it i would love your input. So its pretty simple what do you do with your computer at night? I have heard funny things from people like "don't turn your computer off everynight its bad for it" etc.

So what do most ppl do?

(i put my computer into "sleep" mode)

I turn my desktop off almost every night and my laptop I sometimes turn it off every night but it is mostly left on(can anybody tell me if that is bad for the laptop)

well i dunno if it could overheat:confused:

if i had a laptop i definatly would not leave it on all night,But thats just me :)
 
I always just leave mine on and turn my monitors off. Sometimes I use it to watch a movie and fall asleep so everything stays on, but I've never had any problems. If the LEDs are on, I'll usually switch those off before I go to bed.

yeah i would just to be on the safe side,I mean i dont see the point in leaving it switched on if your going to sleep :D ,Unless your downloadig something.
not only will it be safer from overheating ,Reduce your electricity bills too:D
 
standby or hibernation are the best, it goes into a low power state and the fans turn off, leds too. so its basicly off
 
i just leave all 5 computers on 24/7, it is schedule to do stuff while i'm away from it. stuff like defrag, virus scan, diskcleanup, etc.
 
Mine gets turned on when I wake up, turned off when I know I am going to go out for awhile, and when I am leaving temporarly I put it in sleep mode.

well actually i leave it downloading my stuff thru the night, and when i wake up the next morning, i check the status (download completion) then go to work. right now it's still on. I turn my pc off only 1 day per week !!! and that's sunday !!
 
It's on when I'm around and if I pop out for a short time it stays on. If I'm asleep it's off and if I'm gone for a while, I can't sleep because one of my fans lights up my room:P
 
Mine only gets to rest when im at school/work unless im downloading something big. Im on my computer 90% of the time im at home.
 
It varies for me, though usually during school days I leave it on. Mostly 'cause I tend to finish up homework in the morning, so I don't feel like going through the trouble wasting valuable time turning on the computer. XD So...I usually open my Bittorrent program during that time. XD

If I'm sure I won't be using it anytime soon/later, then I turn it off.
