What is the best gaming CPU

no, what is funny is Flight Simulator playin on your rig! LOL powerpoint mode!

Flight Simulator X actually runs well on my system. I have a an Asus Radeon 4670 1 gigabyte video card, a Phenom II Quad-Core and (believe it or not) 2 gigabytes of RAM is enough.

That GPU is rubbish. It is slower than a 8800GTS. Even in crossfire it is slower than a single 5770.

Ive seen dudes with a better CPU (Q6600) and a better GPU (8800GTS 640mb) and they were getting 20FPS. That's unplayable but he didn't think so! I wonder if you might be playing on very low resolution and gpu settings to claim

but cool man if you're enjoying it.

+1 i5

How can I tell how many frames per second I am getting in Flight Simulator X? I don't have the settings in Flight Simulator turned up at the highest they can possibly be but the settings I have it at are decent. The video settings in game are not turned down low.

IIRC hit Shift+Z three times ingame.

Wow, I find it interesting that the Core i7 Processors are even challenged by Flight Simulator X.

I checked and I am getting around 32 to 33 frames per second in Flight Simulator with my system. Service Pack 2 patch for Flight Simulator X really makes the game a lot better.

AMD Phenom II X6 1055T Six Core 2.8GHz Socket AM3 - £160 which is about
$237 , windows 7 supports hex-core, sorry about the crippled cache :L:cool:

be wary of new six core chips with existing boards, some bios's just coming out are beginning to support them...had to bail my friend out with my phenom 955, because its am3 and he only had a am2+ chip laying around...what a pain

id go with either a i5 or a phenom ii 955 and save the rest for a good gpu, to balance things out, most games nowadays seem to be gpu hungry anyway...
