What make RAID 0 delete all files just because of a lose wire???

the risk isnt bigger as a single drive failing.
Actually there is more risk of losing your data because there are 2 potential points of failure.
so all you have to do is replug it and you get all your data back?
If the cable comes off while your PC is running it's gone. If you pull the cable while it's off you can reconnect it and it'll be fine.

Gee, you would think the person who created RAID 0 would have made a function to prevent this...

ADE, you have to understand there are MANY different varieties of RAID levels. Go to www.tomshardware.com/ and look for their RAID rundown.

And there IS a function to prevent RAID 1 failure, its called RAID 0+1. Basically striped AND mirrored drives. Does it cost more, yes. That's why you don't see it as much.

Personally, if you're gonna do it right you have the RAID 0+1. If I were trying to do a RAID though I'd likely do RAID 0 accepting the risks, and simply have a backup storage drive for music and such. I actually plan on running a system drive, a storage drive, and a backup drive as I recently also lost quite a bit of data (only about 20GB worth, but it was significant), and don't want it happening again. So, system drive for Windows/Linux, and then a pair of large drives to hold the data.

honestly, how often have you have your sata or ide cable come disconnected while your computer is running? drive failure I can understand, but you should replace your hard drives when you get smart errors and such long before the drive will actually fail.

you have to weight the pros and cons. raid can have considerable performance gains, but there is also a greater risk of losing data. I would say for home setups raid is not worth the trouble or the risk.
