When i play DOW2 on the highest setting it lags a little during the cut scenes what can i upgrade on my current build to make this stop? Im also going to be playing battle field when it comes out so what can i upgrade to get this to run perfect on the highest settings?

I'm not saying that its the issue but I know my 5770 lags a bit in cod black ops and a lot of people are saying thats its very common for that series of card to lag in black ops. So maybe it could be doing the same thing for you. I would try updating the drivers or possibly borrowing a card from someone to test.

can always go for 8gb's, you can get 8gb's of ddr3 1600 ripjaw x series for 65 right now, otherwise i'd say sandy bridge would be nice, but the actual benefits wouldn't be worth the 300 something for a new mobo and cpu, and the next gen is coming soon along with bulldozer which all those should work with so that part can wait until both are out and see which is better.

My drivers are up to date cause i just had to reinstall windows. Would it help if i got another 5770 and cross fire them? I also have a dual monitor setup that i run my game on one and Meebo or X fire on the other to chat with my friends not sure if that makes a difference on what i should get.

that won't make a difference to the stutter. It'll be video card related i would say. You might be able to fix this by putting a simple little overclock on the graphics card. There are risks invloved with overclocking, as well as extra heat and it's not guaranteed to fix the problem. However, you can always just re-set the overclock.

yeah, i actually didn't see that part at the bottom somehow so didn't see that he specifically wanted help with that stuff, but i'm pretty sure that even Xfired 5770's won't be maxing out bf3, even with the optomized frostbite 2 engine, it will take a lot to play it an max res and settings, if you're going for that then get a new gpu, the demos and trailers made from live gameplay used sli'd gtx 580's i think, but that was also to keep from ANY fps drop or anything.

my single 5770 can take Crysis 2 at 1280x1024 (my crappy monitor size) at full detail, averaging around 35 fps. Crossfired will be able to handle anything.

yes, so Xfired it would pull around 50, go to 1620xsomething or higher and you'll be back around 30-40, and crysis 2 isn't near the detail of bf3 i'll bet, i know the 5770 is a great card, wish i had one, but it won't be maxing bf3 with a good frame rate at even that res, Xfired it should but not much more than that.

but if you toss in a little overclcok in there, my frame rate goes up to around 38 minimum. And Crysis 2 is AMAZINGLY detailed and graphically intense. The frame drop from 1280x1024 to 1620x1024 or whatever won't be that bad, especially with crossfire.

Though, you could always just bypass the whole crossfire and get a 6950.

Anything lags in black ops :P

OC that 5770 and it will run fine. With 1 5770 i can play black ops maxed at 1900 x 1080 at 60FPS no problem. But yeah, the 5770 is the weakest link aside from your hdd, however that wont effect fps. Also the 5770 ocs like a mofo and makes a massive difference to performance.

with bigfella he's probably got the thing half frozen allowing him to hit higher clocks, but he didn't list the model of gpu or case or anything so can't tell till he responds

mate, its a gen 1 saphire 5770 stock coolling, (egg). nothing special. they're pretty well know for their oc ability ;)

well then you got a good chip, or he just got a bad chip, who knows, and that doesn't mean you gotta say i know and and tell us, but i know ur gunna so go ahead, which be right.

Yes, but 5770 are commonly over 1GHz on air. They, like the 8800GT are the classic mid range beasts that when ocd equal the top of the line same gen. Common knowledge. I just didn't understand you. Also i have two different manufacturers and they oc the same.

unless you don't pay attention to gpus since you can't afford any, and you ain't been around the info for more tha a month or 2

figures these are like the worst shellshockers i've seen since i joined the egg and it's my b-dy, thanks.
