I've had several PC's in the past that came with a Ethernet port that did not work and ended up adding a network pci card or wireless card which worked great. In other words I gave up.
My wife's cousin left for two europe for two years and gave me his old PC. It's a 2.8 gig Dell with Windows XP pro and it too has a wireless card and the built in network port. I removed the Linksys card to use in another PC.
I want to know why the built in ethernet or network port is dead and the PC says there is no network adapter built-in, but it's there, just like other PC's I've had.
Who knows how to activate the factory network port.? Driver?
