Which antivirus is lightest on resources?

AVG doesn't spike your CPU usage, so you should have no problem leaving it active.

IIRC, Nod32 is not any less intensive on resources than AVG, if it is, it's not noticable.

Norton actually used to be good, even Norton 2003 was Ok, and Symantec has great removal tools, just that Norton has gotten too bloated and big and full of junk for my taste in a security program.

Im not a norton fan i have heard so many horror stories about Norton taking down computers in the long run. And my first computer was a victim that i just stay completely away from them. I like what one person said to me, Norton does to good of a job watching everything.

Yea norton sucks. It does a horrible job keeping my friends computer safe. I mean horrible. I spent 4 hours on that computer getting it clean, installed AVG and it works great and is clean.

Exactly, Norton repeatedly fails detection tests, and just screws up systems. God forbid Norton accidentally hurts itself. Oh god, what a mess to manually remove, you're easier reformating and reinstalling all your software.
