Which anti-virus is the less resource taker ever .. and still works fine.. i'am using AVIRA rite now but for some reasons even games like call of duty 1 are lagging which they were'nt used to do before.. on the other hands frame rates are many places have increased , i guess.. Like it hang for 1 second and then start working fine again.. do i need to defragment my disk? or its coz of the antivirus change? i used to use norton internet security before ( the resource eater )

That sounds more like a firewall issue to me, i use norton without any problems but its well known to be a resource hog

I've never tried Nod32, but I use AVG Free Edition and it seems to work quite well. I've never had any problems with resources, and I run it on my laptop. 512M RAM, no paging file.

AVG is the lightest, and overall best I've used so far, that's what I have installed.

I know someone already said this, but I LOVE NOD32!!! It awesome I cant even tell it is running and since I have installed I have not had any issues what so ever. When I had Norton I was updating every other day (so it seemed), it was slow and there was ALWAYS something that got by and infected my PC, oh did I mention Norton is SUPER over priced.

Well, that's cause Norton sucks, big time. That doesn't mean there's not better out there. Is NOD32 free these days? I know it's pretty light on resources, but it's far from user friendly. Also, it does have the highest detection rate, and lowest failure rate.

They have a free 30 day trial, but once it runs out you can just unistall it and redownload it, but you can buy it from their site. Here is their prices...MUCH better than Norton and better program. Anti Virus Software - Antispyware software and Cheap antivirus software The NOD32 Antivirus System

Anything is better than Norton, and almost anything is cheaper. (Except F-Secure and Sophos).

This is true, but I guess marketing makes all the difference that is why everyone have Norton

ok , i can't disable this AVG thing .. which i do normally with my antivirus while playing game .. is it ok to leave it active?
