Which of these cards is the best? Performance and Price.

-Radeon HD 4850
-Radeon HD 5670
-Radeon HD 5770
-GTS 250
-GT 240

Out of those options, the 5770 is the best, in terms of features and performance, especially with the Catalyst 10.3 drivers.

yeah i would probably go with that (might be a teensy weensy bit biased). it has eyefinity, dx11, great game performance, yada yada yada.

-Radeon HD 5770 .. But don't expect to run 1080p games maxed out.. nor 720p maxed out. Sure, it's the best of those you have listed. But it's not a "great" card.. Expect to play new games in medium to low settings..

Take a look at this. The 5770 might be a bit better than you think.

I understand that this card is not the best of the best, but I think it deserves a bit more credit. After all if the 4850 has lower performance than the 5770, and my 4850 can max out cod waw, mw2, fallout 3 and Bioshock 1 & 2 at 1920x1080 while keeping around 60fps. I would assume that the 5770 would be able to attain the same or at least close in either direction.

I know that those are not the newest games but none of those cards will blow through any of the newest games...

The 5770 coupled with a good system is a ncie card for 1680x1050. i play at 1280x1024 (native res of my 17" screen) and i can max crysis out wth ~35 fps, i would call that a decent card...

Yea, you're right. it's a decent card with DX11.. Will do good on lower ress and in the games you mentioned.. But, i really want to be honest to him because i dont want to see another person being disappointed :(

Well, maybe you should tell your main intentions with a new card? Budget?

Do you think that there will be a performance downgrade if the op is not playing games in dx11? I for got to look into that.

at 1440x900 (yes a lower resolution) i can completely max out dirt 2, mass effect 2, burnout paradise city, bioshock 2, and can go on the second highest setting for battlefield bad company 2 and still get 40+ fps (except for dirt 2 which i get only like 35 or so). on mass effect 2 and bioshock i get an even 60 (due to my monitor).
