Hey guys, just trying to find something out here. What would you guys classify as the best processor(s) available on the market today?

Intel Core 2 Extreme Quad GX6850, and 6 500GB SATA II's. Gecube HD 3870X2 1GB Dual GPU PCI.

Edit: That said, next time I go for an AMD.

Had it built by a company specializing in high end PC's, it worked out cheaper than it would have been for me to build it. Anyways, it was only £2200 - I had been saving money from work and profit money from building PC's for people, and I saw the ad on the internet. I just decided I had to have the PC. Got the extra £200 I needed, and away I was.

He's not 13, you can tell by the way he types.

Anyways, Intel is best now because of their Core 2 lineup.

Probably not, he thought a Quad Core running at 3.0GHz meant a CPU running at a whopping 12.0GHz!! :D

On topic:

Yeah Core 2 Duos from Intel are the way to go now if you wish to overclock. If you just an occasional gamer then you could go mid/high-end AMD X2 on stock and you should get a nice deal.

i agree with omega...this guy is not 13.

What do u do at 13(?) that requires 3TB HDD as well as a QX6850 for 2200£... I mean that seems way overpriced and u could have gotten something less extreme and kept some money, but I guess I just don't get it.

Anyway, Intel performs better, but I'd prefer to spend money to help AMD if the difference wasn't huge.

I do a hell of a lot of video editing. . .

And I have quite a few recorded HD TV shows off Sky (1.2tb).

Still about 1tb free left on drive, but am hosting a South Park multimedia mirror too, because fibre optic broadband has 20mb upload.

For this thread, could we just try to be a little bit more on topic?

I still don't get why he's lying about his age...

As for being on topic, I already showed you a link to the official AMD vs Intel thread, i'm sure if you read that you will find many helpful posts.

What 13 year old works? I mean seriously... please get a life and stop wishing you were young. Yes I agree some 13 year olds may work... but not enough to earn £2200... no idea what that is in USD but I think it's more?

whoa thats almost $5000 in AUS.
i like AMD better but most people will tell u that intel is better.
i like AMD cos i have a P2, P3, Cellron 900MHz, Pentium 4 3.0GHz, Pentium D 945, an every time i touch one of those they stuff up.

I'm 12, and my funds are at about £170 at the moment, how on earth...? I've been doing odd jobs for AGES... I'd have to say intel clock-for-clock, but AMD are generally a bit cheaper in the low-to-mid CPU range :)
