which operating system do you prefer?

Ubuntu 8.10 is a very good operating system. I can't wait until they release Ubuntu 9.10. Streaming movies off the Internet from Netflix doesn't work with Linux Ubuntu presently and the DVD player I use doesn't work well with my video card. Other than the old video games I play on occasion I use Ubuntu for a lot of activity on my system.

i cant wait till netflix supports ubuntu or something and 9.10 should be out tomarow im supper excited

I got XP and will stand by it I don't think it will die in a long time to come.

I also got MS - DOS on my laptop. Dunno y... It was on there wen I got it.

I dual boot with with Linux Ubuntu 8.10 and Windows Vista Basic 32-bit. I use Linux mostly for the Internet but there are programs Linux can't run so that is when I use my Windows.

^^^same for me, i usually only run windows vista if im going to play games, or video convertion, other wise that im ubuntu :D, only uses 500mbs of ram:eek: haha amazing :)

I prefer Windows 7 but use XP Professional SP3 cuz I do not want to buy an OS right now.

I think it is overpriced to charge $110 for Windows 7. The price will probably come down on Windows 7 in the near future but not near what I think is fair. In my opinion I believe a fair price for an operating system is $75.

I got my Windows Vista 32-bit for $70. I hope to not have to buy another Windows operating system for several years as I think the 4 gigabyte RAM limitation in my operating system won't hold me back for a few more years.

I octoboot running on windows xp pro 64 bit, linux ubuntu, osx, xp pro 32 bit, xp home, windows 7 ultimate 32 bit, windows 7 ultimate 64 bit, and lastly, windows vista home basic.

I beat you guys

Wow, that's intense. I thought hard drives could only have four primary partitions (with unlimited secondary). Multiple hard drives? Or are you counting Virtual Machines. Either way, flabbergasted.

DOS 1.0... Oh did I say that out loud?!? Vista Home Premium on laptop, double boot XP Pro and Ubuntu 9.04 on desktop.

I was going to download Linux Ubuntu 9.10 Karmic Koala Operating System but I have been reading and found out there are problems with it because it was just released several days ago. Karmic Koala Ubuntu can wait a few months while the Ubuntu programmers work the bugs out.

I'd say Windows 7. Its by far the best and fastest.

I consulted cleverbot, and this was it's response:

Go figure

Cant really rely on clever bot:

Code:
User: Are you a boy?

Cleverbot: Yes.

User: Are you a girl?

Cleverbot: Yes i'm a girl.

User: Are you transexual?

Cleverbot: You are.

User: I asked you.

Cleverbot: No, I asked you first. :P.

User: I quite obviously asked you first.

Cleverbot: No I asked you first.

User: :|
