None for me thanks

I usually disable all themes and special effects. I like the OS to run as fast as possible. Even though I have 2GB of ram, I still like to turn off all the fluff. Maybe I'll change my mind for Vista, that looks pretty cool.

You have to have a taskbar theme, lol. It sounds like you have it on classic.

In all reality, having it on classic instead of silver or blue doesn't make a difference today, maybe when XP was first released when most computers had 128-256MB of RAM, and a 1Ghz PIII...

You know what I find funny is?
You guys are disabling all your special effects so that XP will run faster. Take a look at my previous post. That was run on a PIII866mhz comp, 128mb ram, some vodoo video card and an 8gb hdd and it still runs butter smooth. Gotta love linux!

Seeing as how you list Non Windows OS...

I use the Gnome desktop in linux.

Control Theme: Clearlooks with custom black transparent panels.
Icon Theme: OSX.
Emerald Theme: Sky.
GDM Theme: My own custom one.
Gnome Splash: None, Removed Theme.
Boot Splash: Default Ubuntu one.

When people say Linux is more customisable than Windows, this is a good example.

Nice, that's pretty similar to my other computer that I have running. Ever us kubuntu? I love it. KDE is so much more customozable then gnome. But gnome looks awesome too.

I have tried KDE, both in Suse and Kubuntu. I prefer Gnome though :)

btw, if you check out the Beryl forum there's a post on there somewhere that explains how you can record video clips of your desktop using VLC. Makes it a lot easier to see :)

Damn man thats sweet, what theme is that? Where can I find it?
Thanks,

Its for linux. It is called XGL and beryl. It is an xserver layered on top of OpenGL. Xorg is ran underneath XGL.
It is really easy it install and get it working, all you need is linux! Just about any distro will work, but i prefer ubuntu because of the apt-get commands.

Yea I know, I already have it running, I will take a new video of it, brb!

Would games like WOW and COD2 work on Kubuntu? I have heard you can get wine and run it thru that but the frames suck and runs slow? Is this the only way?

I currently have WoW working on Ubuntu and Kubuntu, but IDK about COD2.

You can do it even easier if you have an Nvidia card. You don't even need XGL!

I am not understanding what you are saying, sorry. If you want those special effects, you have to have XGL and beryl, nvidia or ATI.

Yuep. I am using an ATI card as well. The performance isn't great, but hey, what do you expect from ATIs drivers for linux right?
