Why is my computer doing this?

Since you're having a video issue here are the common checklists
- VC not getting power .. or power from PSU not good/enough or PSU dead
- PSU not powering the slot
- cord/monitor isnt working

Alright, thanks a lot for the help. Do you know how I could test these things? Like a program or something? And If the slot isnt getting power its a PSU issue, not mobo, correct? I wonder why these things would be going bad, they're less than 6 months old....Thanks again.

If you're not getting anything on the screen then you're not completely posting which means programs are useless. You need to test the hardware one at a time to isolate the device(s) causing problems :)

My computer still starts up, it just doesnt happen the first time. And how should I test each part, like take it in to a computer place? I could just return my vid. card and get a new one, but if that isnt the problem, that would suck. I dont know how to test any of this stuff to see if it works. BTW, I dont have any other parts to test, so I'm out of luck there.

edit: worded weird before.

K, I'll try 3DMark. Would that catch errors though? Maybe FPS would be low witha bad card...But Praetor is making it sound like a PSU or monitor. I guess I could maybe try my Dad's monitor.

Ok, I was just sitting here, on instant messenger, running a program called FreshDiagnose, and my monitor went blank, with the yellow light still on, and my computer still on. While the computer was still on, I unplugged my monitor, and it said No Signal. Plugged it back in, still nothing on screen. I then turned off my computer, turned it back on, and its working. This is really bugging me, I need to start replacing parts. I would replace my PSU immediately, but I bought it from TigerDirect, and they wont exchange it for free. Also, just so you know, I fried my CPU a few weeks ago, bought a new CPU and mobo, and it worked. Now its doing this. I have tested my Memory, and it is fine. SO it is really between the PSU and Video card. Should I try replacing both, or is that even the problem? PLEASE HELP!!!!

Thanks.

UPDATE: So in the last 15 minutes, the monitor shutting off has happened three times. I noticed that it has only happened while I'm in the program FreshDiagnose. This last time it happened I had music running on Real Player, and it continued to play after the monitor shut off. Also, when I turn the computer back on, it asks me if I want to send an error report. I sent it, and here is the link afterwards. Error Report.

UPDATE 2: yeah, it definitely only turned off when that program was open. It was a program that looks at all your hardware and stuff. It is running great now, turns on fine, just happened with that program...

UPDATE 3: Ran 3DMark05 demo version, and got a score of 3558. So it ran that fine, if that is relevant at all to my situation.

Haha humor me, what driver revision are you using for your videocard? :) Woudlnt happen to be 83.40 would it?

It says Driver Version 81.98. (Most recent according to Nvidia's website) And is that driver revision (83.40) known to cause that problem?

Thanks,
Derek

Hey, I ran FreshDiagnose without any video drivers, and got a blue screen with the STOP: 0x0000007F error code. I reinstalled drivers, still had the problem, so I tried rolling back the drivers. This time, while running FreshDiagnose, the same error screen came up, same code. So could it be a driver issue, or just a video card issue all together?

Could it be the mobo? If it is the mobo or video card, is it ok to leave my computer on all day? I dont wanna damage anything else.
