found a really nice one, its wide-screen and such...
hows widescreen for gaming?
does it have compatibility issues or what?

I don't have widescreen and never used it for gamming. It would probably be wonderful just because there is more on the screen at once, but realize this is only for games that support it. Older games will be capped at 3:2 resolutions.

The reason I never even considered getting widescreen on any of my systems, it's HORRIBLE for internet and other such applictions. Websites are typcially designed for 3:2(say 1024x768) I can't think of a wide resolutions now, but we'll just say 1640x768(give me a break, I just woke up :P) Now, you have all that extra space on either side. Some people might not mind... I donno

I really wouldn't get one except for maybe widesceen movies but is it really worth it just for movies. I don't like the fact is the you would have all that extra on the side.

Well i have a widescreen and it is great for gaming with games that support it. But games like need for speed MW that dont support it the cars are all stretched out but you get used to it after awhile. And as for the internet i dont know why you think it is horrible for internet have you ever had a widescreen to judge it on if you havent then dont say it would be horrible. Anyway computerforum and newegg in widescreen is not stretched out everything is in proportion.

My dad has a 15.4" wide screen monitor. I have to say but I love how it looks. Internet doesn't look wierd for me, there' just some extra room on the side. Right now I'm trying to get the acer 19" wide from newegg.

Widescreen

I bought that 37" LCD HD widescreen today and it's all good. Little bright. Kinda annoying that I have to let it auto config between games and windows. But my games run at 1024x768 full screen with no stretching and windows desktop is 1920x1080. I think FEAR IS making me motion sick damnit. Everyone told me so but I HAD to have the 37" LCD. Luckily I can return it up to 45 days for a full refund.

Ahaha, I'm just trying to convince my dad to let me dish out the cash. It's only $190 on newegg with free shipping!!

Why not set up your computer in another room then?Make it like a console system tv and your computer being the console?I'm sure you can come up with a way.
