Wii Gift Card hacking

I just picked up some of target's Wii gift cards, and I was looking over the guide to hacking them at http://www.instructables.com/id/EUJNLVXG1SEUIFO5Z4/?ALLSTEPS
and i had a question, how could I change the LEDs to say, red? it's simply a rad wire and a black wire running to each LED...

Might want to change what you just said...but if you want to change the LED colors then you're going to have to buy some red LEDs and somehow remove the blue LEDs and then solder the red LEDs in place of the blue ones...I assume that's how you would do it...

I'm not "Hacking" i merely trying to alter a legally purchased product, it's the same as skinning a iPod or Xbox

youve got the wrong definition of hacking, this is hardware hacking, it literally means hacking up hardware, but has a lot of variations, this is one of them. Generally it would ential forcing or making hardware do things its not originally designed to do.

Yeah, understandable, I had the same reaction at first I looked at the link and it's completely fine. As for changing it to red, I think you just need to get some red colored LEDs and replace the ones that are in there. Target would be real smart to offer different colors on their own, possibly red and green at least...
