Will this RAM work on this Motherboard?

Ive had a bit of confusion choosing a mother board for my new gaming build, and the one i ended up choosing takes DDR2 but it says this in the specifications:

Memory
-Number of Memory Slots 4×240pin

-Memory Standard DDR2 1200(O.C.)/1066*/800/667

-*Due to AMD CPU limitation, DDR2 1066 is supported by AM3/AM2+ CPU for one DIMM per channel only

-Maximum Memory Supported 16GB

-Channel Supported Dual Channel

The "Due to" area has me confused, i would like to run 8 Gigs of this:

Kingston HyperX T1 Series 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 1066 (PC2 8500) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model KHX8500D2T1K2/4G - Retail

But this is 1066 ram sticks and up there in the "Due to" area of the mobo description has me confused on if this will work.

Please let me know if you know if 8 gigs of this ram will work on this mobo:confused:.

Thank you..

It will work with 4GB (2x2GB), but you won't be able to run them in series, they will have to be in different channels.

On your motherboard you will have memory slots of different colours, there should be 2 different colours. Normally, you would have the memory in the same coloured slots, but because of your mobo, you will have to have them in different coloured slots.

You will be able to run 8GB of 800MHz (PC6400) (4x2GB) memory, which will give you better performance than 4GB 1066MHz.

You If you really want 8GB 1066 though, you will have to get 2x4GB

Ok thanks, I didnt know i would get better proformance from 800 ram. So i will just get 4 stick of 2 gig 800 ram. and that should work correct?

Yea that will work.

1066MHz is faster than 800MHz, however, because you have double the memory, you will just about certainly see better performance, even though frequencies are slightly slower on each stick

:good:
