Hi guys,
I've got a big problem here and any/all help will be very much appreciated. Whenever I put my desktop PC to sleep or hibernation, it switchs itself back on, sometimes immediately, sometimes in a minute or so. After this happened a couple of times, I got fed up and tried putting it to sleep after disconnecting all attached peripherals.
After some connecting & disconecting, I found out that it was caused by my internet. If I put the pc to sleep/hibernation after removing the ethernet cable, it doesn't wake itself. However, when I switch it back on, I have to reboot to get my internet connection back, which makes putting it to sleep pointless.
I'm running Windows 7 Release Candidate (32bit), along with Windows XP which isn't having any such problems.
So, if this is caused by my ethernet cable, is this some kind of wake-on-lan feature? If yes, how do I disable it? Would I be right in thinking it doesn't have anything to do with my router, as XP doesn't have any problems? Also, any idea as to why my internet gets disabled after waking?
As I said, all comments/suggestions are very welcome. Not being able to put my pc to sleep is really really annoying ...
