I am going nuts trying to do something as simple as getting my laptop wireless connection to the net. I tried a long time ago when I first bought my router and gave up and used a cable instead. Now the connector is broken thanks to to much use I'm trying again.
First I know the laptop finds the network since its first on the list with the signal strength up on max. although it does say limited or no access. I've been in the router and set the mac addresses (physical) I've found - both for ethernet LAN and ethernet wireless. I've set up a network in Windows - I'm using Windows XP. It seems the trouble is in getting a network address. How do I get "the system" to give my laptop a network address?
