$1100 Gateway OEM $114 for RAM upgrade (original 128MB gone).
15" CRT, 2.1 Boston Speakers with subwoofer, NEC CD-RW drive, floppy, 2 front USB 1.1 ports (more on back), standard clip microphone. Purchased in the year 2002, upgraded in the year 2004. 2005= $21 sound card upgrade.

Don't more OEM machines come with microphones now?!

The Dell I'm using right now was around 1400usd (purchased 6 months ago):

P4 3.0GHz
1 Gig RAM
160GB HDD
x300 se
17" LCD

The only thing I've changed on it is the video card; I replaced the x300 with an x600 pro, which cost me about $20 after I sold the x300.

My previous pc was a P3 1 GHz, 128MB, nVidia TNT2, 40GB HP which was somewhere around $600-700 four years ago.

$1150

With the monitor, $1100 I had a computer. It's an HP, but the case is kinda cool and it preforms well enough for me.
