I havn't got my HP Pavilion Slimline s5120f(tigerdirect needs to hurry up), but what I was planing to do is move the motherboard to a different case and add a graphics card and a power supply.

Case

Power Supply

Yes I know the motherboard will look small in the case but I don't care. I just want to know if all this would fit in the case and work properly. All this should run me about $125 and I don't want to go over $130
If you know anything cheaper then what I just linked please link it.

Edit: What the Hp's Motherboard looks like

Problems you might run into.

You will have to use the I/O panel from the back of the HP to match the motherboard. Have no idea if it will fit a standard ATX case.

You would need to figure out how to match the new case headers to the motherboard headers, Power Switch/HD LED/Reset Switch and so on.

Dont know if the mounting holes in the motherboard would match a standard ATX case.

that power supply is crap and will probably blow out the rest of your computer, the case is a cheap flimsy broadway brand, trust me, they suck.

Why would you buy a new hp, just to do that to it? you would be best off building a computer.

I didn't buy the computer a friend of mine bought me it because I have a crappy dell optiplex gx620. So whatever I do it, it will be 400x better then my dell.

As stranglehold has said, you will have a problem with matching the case wires to the motherboard without modding them, and without having the new case and the computer side by side who knows what other issues you might have. But as said again, you should pick a different power supply as the one you have is cheap and I wouldn't trust it to run my system.

I'm making it a light gaming computer. I mostly play wow, sometimes killing floor, L4D2, and CCS(on low settings).

The coolmaster case I like but I'm going to go with the red/black one.

The graphic card I can't go with because the HP motherboard is a PCIEx16 and I been told that if you put a 2.0 card in a 1.0 slot you won't get what you paid for.

I'll look through that list of power supplies see what I can get.

Edit: Was looking around and found this.

All this will run me $134.97, but I still can't get the putting a PCIE 2.0 card in a PCIE 1.0 slot. All I know is that the 2.0 card will run at the 1.0 speed. So does that mean I won't get the full package of the card or what?

No, you won't run into any problems. Coolersmaster will provide you with stable and quiet power supply, it is very cheap as well.
