I love Xbox!

PS3 is a no brainer actually. For $99 more of a bluray player you get a PS3 which does a lot more. I own both consoles and the God of War series, Metal Gear, and Final Fantasy is enough to own a PS3. Plus bluray, 1080P out of the box and you know what I found out the other day? My Samsung TV remote works native with my PS3. I found this out by accident by grabbing my remote by accident and I noticed it was controlling my PS3. That is pretty damn sweet.

Okay heres the fact , ive had both systems.. PS3 is a better console , blu ray , wifi

xbox is a better system for pure gaming, better exclusives, online is way better (but you have to pay )

I wish I still had an xbox sometimes so I could play alan wake , but then again I wanted to play MGS4 , Heavy Rain, Uncharted 1 and 2, Killzone 2 (which sucks balls )

I hook up my external hardrive to my ps3 and watch all the movies I legally download, its sweet... no hiccups like I got with my old xbox

did I mention my xbox got those red lights, and so did my brothers and most of my friends

That's because your guys look at them different then I do. I look at the 2 consoles for nothing but gaming and the 360 is hands down better for gaming(unless you wont to play one of the exclusive titles that is on PS3). Everybody else seems to care more about which one plays movies better or has features unrelated to gaming. The PS3 is nothing but a media center to me. If a wont a blu-ray player I'm not going to buy a whole game system to get one(You can get a BR for $99). I don't think I would ever buy another PS3 they just seem useless now. My computer can do everything the PS3 can and my 360 has way better online gaming. Really though it's just what you prefer and I just prefer the 360 plus I like the exclusive games better.

Sure thing, and I agree, but the exclusive games for Xbox I don't like. I never once liked Halo, Gears of War came to PC and Gears of War 2 will most likely come to PC (plus I have a 360 anyway), and any other shooter game I will play on my PC. Most other games are on both systems, and on my brand new 46" LED HDTV, the PS3 does actually look better.

I am older now though and not as much of a gamer as I used to be, so I like the other features, and I like the BR ability. Also, the $99 bluray players are horrible and not even an comparison. Though if I was going to go that route, I would just buy a BR drive for my HTPC and be done with it.

I did like the Rainbox Six games on Xbox though, but those aren't really a shooter as much as they are a tactical shooter.

I couldn't care less if you bought them at the same time, makes no difference. You mentioned that you decided on two consoles because of a halo, the fact that you bought other games afterwards is irrelevent. What if the halo series was released on ps3 as well, would you still have chosen xbox?

I guess i'm just jelous, I wish I had the $$ to shell out for new consoles everytime an appealing game gets released for a system I don't own;)

If Halo was on the PS3 as well, I guess I would have some decision making to do.. And good thing new consoles don't come out that make others obsolete very often..

If the PS3 actually offered games that appealed to me, I'd pick one up. The only thing recently that looked nice, was MAG, and I'm still on the fence about that.

Yea it's all about preference, I never found any game on the PS3 that interested me. I don't game much anymore either, I just don't find it as fun as I did a couple of years ago. It's seems like most of the new games are just the same stuff just with a new look. The only games I currently play are MW2(which I hate but for some reason still play it) and BF:BC2(awesome game). I agree that for the price the PS3 is pretty good but I just don't look at it as a game system as much as a do a media player.

That is what Sony is making though. They are making a media center that plays everything from movies to music to games. They want the PS3 to replace 5 different components on your home entertainment system. Xbox wants to do the same thing. They are competing in the same market. The Wii is similar but geared towards casual gamers, which make up a larger market.
