This has nothing to do with the current topic... but i do not know how to start a thread.
I was hoping for an answer.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835103057 is the cooler. I don't know why the first link was deactivated.
And thanks.
I would say it would make a difference. And its $15 cheaper. I was gonna go with that cooler until my friend got the 212+ on his i5 and was getting 24c on idle. And that's with one stock fan. Upgrade the fan and get another one blow out, and it will stay really cool.
Its not a generally good thing to recommend something based on "everyone else is doing it".
The 212 is good, no one is claiming that it is not. I got pleanty of #s on that. But I am not overclocking to 4GHz anytime soon. I ain't overclocking at all for a permanent basis. The 2500k is just future proofing the system. When it is not still kicking butt, I can overclock it and still be good. That I can not do with a non k.
And when this time comes to be, I am almost certain that there will be better coolers out than the 212. When the 775 was still a kick arse system I don't think the 212 was out.
So I guess what I am saying is, As long as the Hyper 520 is substantially better than the intel crap that comes in the box, then I will use it. If it is not better than the stock, then I will go with the 212.
I have built computers before. A lot of them. The process isn't fun, its tedious, especially when your looking for 1 outcome/look and are running through 100+ zipties a minute trying to cable manage.
I guess what I was trying to say is I would rather spend the extra 10 on this cooler for the looks than just buy a 212. Its nothing special with the 212 it is what everyone uses these days. I am not everyone.
It is ok man. I snapped for some reason. It was not against you.
Prolimatech PRO-BV12. Nothing special compared to what you can get, But I got a good deal on them at a store, and they match my color scheme.I agree with this, I have the Hyper 212 EVO and with one fan I'm getting 28c on the hottest core and 22c on the coolest on idle, and at a 4.0Ghz OC I'm getting around 55-57c with just one fan. So it's a good air cooler for the price, plus it has 120mm fans with support for up to 2 of them.
Also, what fans are those on you Hyper 212+ claptonman?
