You might be able to get a Dell UltraSharp U2412M - 24" within budget, or slightly over.

Weird. I have had the opposite feeling about them. Consistently good in the 3 builds that I used them in. What don't you like about them?

I find the way they display text is a bit nasty. It always seems to look dotty, as though I were viewing on a TV as opposed to a monitor.

Also, if someone could help me find a monitor that would be awsome, i want HDMI but i cant seem to find anything half decent above 20" and within $300 each.
Any reason you want HDMI? Only difference with HDMI and DVI is sound, and with a monster computer like this, it would be pointless using speakers that would come with a monitor.
Briilee said SLI was overkill, Its true, but IF you want it go for it.

In some cases, no, its not. To play BF3 at 1080p on ultra and force 4x AA, you need two cards to get above 60fps. I'm not saying it won't be playable at 40-60fps, but if he wants that kind of power, he needs two cards.

Well I guess that I have not used really high performing monitors yet. Maybe there is something that I am missing.

The monitor you selected is 27" but only 1920x1080, which will mean it has a fairly poor dot pitch and will not give you anymore desktop space than a 22" monitor. If buying a 27", you should look for monitors with a native res of 2560x1440. If these fall outside your budget then you should consider downsizing to 23/24". I would get pretty tired of looking at 1080p stretched across 27".

Spot on! ASUS monitors at the $400 or less seam to really be crappy, and its more than just the Resolution that will make an ASUS monitor boring to watch.

About the GPU I was just saying that worst case he could get rid of one if it helped getting a better CPU, and that 1155 socket is not the most ideal socket for Crossfire. But we do what we have to do, and I agree if you want to play at highest possible settings you need them. At the time though CPU's were more important, but its all going to turn out alright now.

im not sure if i said it before, but i cant afford those screens. My budget is $250 PER screen, and the one i picked is already above that. I cant go any higher than $250.

I can't help but feel you'd be better off spending $500 on a single, quality monitor rather than two cheaper ones. Unless you really need two monitors for increased productivity, I can't see the benefit.

i really don't think higher end monitors are necessary, but we can probably lower some of the other parts to fit them into the budget if you want.

tbh i dont really care about "high quality color"..... i just want to be able to see and it to be decently bright. I will be ordering all the stuff that is on sale tomorrow, and all the other stuff in about a week. Any changes you can think of or is it all good?

But what is the point in spending top dollar on a high end gpu to render all those textures nicely, if you're just going to stick an average monitor on the end of it?

You'd have such a better computing experience if you ditched that second monitor and put the $500 towards a single screen.

i am putting the money foward so i can play a smooth game with nice graphics that arent blocky. I honestly dont really care about the colors so much and have played quality games on cheap monitors and expensive monitors before w/o noticing a difference. On a side note, i would like to know what you had in mind (jonny) when you said that we could "lower some parts"... what parts?
