new PC what should i look for?

Hi, I was looking to get a desktop PC since you can get more for the money than a laptop and I'm kinda on a budget lol... Anyways I mostly plan to do things like download music and maybe some anime and I would also like to occasionally play an MMO.....I won't exactly be a hardcore gamer but I do plan to put some hours into it... I also don't need to play on the highest settings but I would like for it to be smooth on say, medium? what specs would you say I should look for I was debating on customizing my own on HP's website.... I'm also on a budget... I don't have an exact dollar amount but I can't put $800 dollars in a computer... thanks in advance
 
You'll get better performance out of that $800 if you build it yourself. What country you from? Maybe I can get you a build together that would satisfy your needs.
 
That prebuilt doesn't have a GPU, if you're gaming you're better off putting something together yourself with what you want and better quality components. I can put an i5 gaming build together for you for $500 or $600, what country are you from?
 
Hmm... $600 is a bit tight for a gaming PC + monitor, and I don't even think that $500 is doable. I could certainly put together something without a monitor within your budget though.

Wow! Thanks for making this list!!!! The only thing is I wouldn't have the slightest clue how top put everything together....I do consider myself pretty tech savvy and I'm a pretty good learner... How hard do you think it would be for me to do it myself?
 
Not very hard to learn. Watch a few YouTube videos and read up online before you do anything. Ask here if you have any questions.
 
no. The 430 is quite weak. Look used. On a budget, you can't really beat used. Only thing you really should buy new every single time is a hard drive. Never buy used there.

Wow thanks! lol which board would you recommend? Also, the cards you recommended vs the one denther recommended?
 
Oh, and what do you guys think of the G860 processor? Is it good for the budget build? Or would you recommend something else? Plus, newegg is out of the crucial ballistix RAM what would you recommend for that? (sorry if it feels like im asking a lot...i just dont want to get the best for my money)

RAM is RAM, with very few exceptions. Look at Adata, Kingston, G.Skill, Patriot, Crucial, Corsair, or Mushkin for the most part. Samsung is a heck of a good brand also, but they are out of stock just about everywhere.

The ones I recommended are a good bit better than the original. The 7750 is decent.

Can't find one for vs 6770, but it should be similar performance for less money.

Motherboard, GD65 hands down. The others are decent, but I wouldn't use them if you can afford not to.

It is a perfectly good processor. The only other low budget unit you could look at is an i3, but the performance is not worth the jump in price.
