Hi, I was looking to get a desktop PC since you can get more for the money than a laptop and I'm kinda on a budget lol... Anyways I mostly plan to do things like download music and maybe some anime and I would also like to occasionally play an MMO.....I won't exactly be a hardcore gamer but I do plan to put some hours into it... I also don't need to play on the highest settings but I would like for it to be smooth on say, medium? what specs would you say I should look for I was debating on customizing my own on HP's website.... I'm also on a budget... I don't have an exact dollar amount but I can't put $800 dollars in a computer... thanks in advance

You'll get better performance out of that $800 if you build it yourself. What country you from? Maybe I can get you a build together that would satisfy your needs.

I meant I can't put that much into one.... if say my max is probably about $500-600

That prebuilt doesn't have a GPU, if you're gaming you're better off putting something together yourself with what you want and better quality components. I can put an i5 gaming build together for you for $500 or $600, what country are you from?

Would you be needing a Monitor/keyboard/mouse/speakers and operating system in this 500/600 budget?

Um I think I have a keyboard and I'd probably get my own mouse. I am also without a monitor and my brother might have some speakers

Hmm... $600 is a bit tight for a gaming PC + monitor, and I don't even think that $500 is doable. I could certainly put together something without a monitor within your budget though.

Yeah that's what I meant 5-6 without a monitor

Wow! Thanks for making this list!!!! The only thing is I wouldn't have the slightest clue how top put everything together....I do consider myself pretty tech savvy and I'm a pretty good learner... How hard do you think it would be for me to do it myself?

Not very hard to learn. Watch a few YouTube videos and read up online before you do anything. Ask here if you have any questions.

no. The 430 is quite weak. Look used. On a budget, you can't really beat used. Only thing you really should buy new every single time is a hard drive. Never buy used there.

For $80, the 6770 is decent. http://www.ebay.com/itm/MSI-AMD-Rad...130?pt=PCC_Video_TV_Cards&hash=item27d0dd4332

If you can add $5, the look at a 6850. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Sapphire-HD...398?pt=PCC_Video_TV_Cards&hash=item4ac2771e7e

or a 550ti (about equal to the 6770) http://www.ebay.com/itm/nVidia-GeFo...886?pt=PCC_Video_TV_Cards&hash=item3380a92556

or if you could modify his build, use one of these boards and grab a better GPU

http://www.ebay.com/itm/EVGA-P67-SLI-Micro-/181094173392?pt=Motherboards&hash=item2a2a0dcad0 (Not the best, EVGA is kind of boarderline, but since you can't OC, there is no need to worry about that)

http://www.ebay.com/itm/MSI-SKT-115...189360593?pt=Motherboards&hash=item337fe9cbd1 (much better and less expensive than what he suggested)

http://www.ebay.com/itm/ASRock-P67-...184787960?pt=Motherboards&hash=item3ccfd395f8 (also better than what was suggested, but still not really great.)

If you can do one of these, then you may be able to swing a 560ti or 6870

http://www.ebay.com/itm/EVGA-NVIDIA...155?pt=PCC_Video_TV_Cards&hash=item3a7f6265ab

Either way you will end up with a much better gaming experience.

RAM is RAM, with very few exceptions. Look at Adata, Kingston, G.Skill, Patriot, Crucial, Corsair, or Mushkin for the most part. Samsung is a heck of a good brand also, but they are out of stock just about everywhere.

The ones I recommended are a good bit better than the original. The 7750 is decent.

vs 6870

Can't find one for vs 6770, but it should be similar performance for less money.

Motherboard, GD65 hands down. The others are decent, but I wouldn't use them if you can afford not to.

It is a perfectly good processor. The only other low budget unit you could look at is an i3, but the performance is not worth the jump in price.
