Have microsoft handed sony the win already

It seems to go against the current of this thread, but from a different POV: http://beta.fool.com/alexcho/2013/06/14/microsoft-crushed-sony-at-e3/37014/?source=eogyholnk0000001

I don't believe a word of it based on the sales figures comparison given for 7 and 11 year old gaming platforms, and the author completely avoids the "What if MS can't sell enough to make a profit until 3-4 years into it because of the draconian restrictions they placed on it" argument.

He's also comparing a software/hardware mega-giant to a company that specifically makes hardware-related devices, so again, accurate mileage will vary. Worthy of a read, albeit not the most interesting.

FWIW, I'm a PS guy.

Exactly and the fact it has to go online at least every 24 hours, yes a majority of people now have broadband access, but even for the minority that don`t microsoft have more or less slapped them in the face especially with the xbox 360 is for those without internet comments.

As far as i can see sony have played nearly every card right, price, used games etc.

The only bad side to the ps4 is the need to pay to play online unlike ps3.

I don`t think it is a big deal given ps4 is cheaper and can exchange games, but sony really should aim to release the ps4 ahead of the xbox one.

I have a feeling somewhere down the line they'll flip that switch back on again. It'd be funny on release day they put out a software update. :P

Update v1.0.1 (Released November xx, 2013)

Just wondered what everyone thinks about the console situation, now both companies have revealed dates, prices etc.

Seems with the ps4 costing significantly less than xbox one and and sony letting you do as you wish with 2nd had games, I can`t see any reason for people to choose xbox one considering it costs more, you can`t freely trade games and although it does not need a constant internet connection, i understand it needs to go online every 24 hours.

I've had several 360 fanboy friends tell me they are switching over. and with little reluctance too. sony is just kicking microsoft's ass right here and its kinda sad because i really like my xbox :(

I agree, if they do that i think people will get a good look at how much better it will most likely be
