Definitely something like an RX 470 or RX 480.. They've started dropping in price too.. I have a 470 I got for $199 USD.. Definitely have to say it's a 1080p sweet spot for the price. 60FPS in almost all games at high to very-high settings..

Newegg has an ASUS RX480 for $165 after $20MIR Here

That being said, the GTX 1060's have dropped to around $200 and really give you something to think about.. (I'd go with the 1060 in this case).

EDIT: You might be able to throw an aftermarket cooler on the FX-6300 and shoot for 4.0GHz..

You use it for gaming? What games do you play? The 950 is a low end card.

Honestly anything

Depends on budget. New GPU would probably get you the most gain per dollar.

The Computer Forum Marketplace might have a cost effective video card upgrade.

Max 400$

Newegg.. 3GB models but they still hold their weight..

EVGA ACX 2.0 Single Fan

Gygabyte Windforce OC
Looking at a 1060 6GB Edition https://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod...4126122&cm_re=1060_6GB-_-14-126-122-_-Product

That or the RX-480.

The general rule for deciding is this:

If you plan to upgrade in the next year, year and a half, get the 1060 6Gb. Is better right now. If you are gonna use it till it dies, get the 480. Drivers are still developing and it's pulling ahead. Will eventually.

If you do get the 1060, get the 6Gb version. Is faster. The same doesn't go for the 480. Both versions will perform the same in 1080-1440p.

That's pretty debatable right now considering the latest nvidia drivers are suppose to improve DX12 performance on all pascal cards across the board by a decent margin*.

*Those are nvidia's words, not mine. So take it with a grain of salt, or there might be someone who fact checked nvidia.

Yeah I see how Nvidia could develop new drivers and improve DX12 compatibility. What I said above seems to be the general agreement in the geek comunity, but I doubt Nvidia will stay behing waiting for AMD drivers to improve, while they do nothing. After all the 1060 has their latest architecture.

That was based on known benchmarks before Nvidia dropped the knowledge bomb on everyone that their latest driver is going to improve DX12 performance by up to 33% on some games and claims a 17% increase average across all DX12 games.

I don't blame you for not knowing this since the drivers came out on the 9th and rumours were only running around a week before that. It's relatively new and I haven't had the chance to look around if someone's done any benchmarks with the new drivers to see how they compare with the current AMD offering.

All I'm saying is, don't discredit the 1060 as being slower or potentially being slower now that new information and optimizations are out for it.

Yeah that would be sweet. Couldn´t find any benchmarks though. Or any info on this new drivers. Are they still beta?

Like others said, a new GPU would be the best upgrade, but with that said the 6300 isn't that good of a CPU now either.
I would go with the 480 over the 1060 though, the performance is pretty similar but the 1060 doesn't support SLI while the 480 supports Crossfire. Who knows when you might find yourself with some money again?

There is no point on getting all sensitive about the comment boys. He is just trying to say, the 480 has Crossfire, the 1060 doesn´t have SLI. Simple as that.
