Those were my feels as well. Ensure the monitor is connected to the horizontal card instead of the vertical onboard port.

He asked which specific driver version is installed. Did you download it from Nvidia or let windows install the driver?

You really need to take it in and have it diagnosed. It's most likely a bad driver or video card. Since its only a few months old, you should have a warranty period to get it checked out.

Where could I take it to get it looked at?

Yea I built this pc myself with a friends help. Yes he knew what he was doing. An I went to Best Buy an bought all the hardware there. Everything but the power supply.
