I'm looking at this card and all the reviews look fantastic. Is this card good enough to play BF2 at high settings? What are your thoughts on this card?

I have it. It does play BF2 on high quite well. Its a great card for $150.

Would it be better than the one in my sig? It has 4 more pixel pipelines. Will that make a significant difference? I mean is it worth it or should I just stick with what I have and save my money?

It sorta depends on what you're doing as far as which performs best. On games which use alot of the new shader coding and such, the newer specs on the X1600 allow it to shine. But the X850's seem to pull alot of muscle as well, especially the 16 pipe ones (stock, or unlocked).

The x850xt is better then the x1600PRO. The call is up to you whether to save. It would show a noticable difference in games. I would however save a little more and get a 7800GT or a x1800XT.

Well I'm primarily looking to play BF2 at all high settings. The 1600 I have only has 12 pipelines and I was told the more piplines the better on any card. Like right now my card can play BF2 on ALMOST all high settings but it struggles. Would this be a better choice? They are on newegg for $119. Is this a good deal?

I was looking at 7900gt's but they are like $285. The x850 is $119 on newegg. That's a pretty big difference. Are the 7900gt's going to come down in price at all or...? I would love to have 2 7900gt's in sli but it's so damn expensive. Any thoughts?

Yea its a good deal, asuming your talking about a x850xt.

Yep it's the x850xt. I just can't find the clock speed on it though. I think it's like 520mhz. Is that any good? Does it even matter or is the pipelines the most important part of the equation?

i would save ur money and get the x1900 xt. it is a lot cheaper than the xtx but only about a 10 mhz difference in clock speed which you can easily get by overclocking.

520 mhz isnt great. the xt is 1.45 ghz and it has 48 pixel processors.

The x1900xt is over $300. I'm not spending that on a computer that I use for school and sometimes use for gaming. The x850xt is $125 shipped. Why in the world would I spend that much on a card when I get another gig of ram AND the x850xt for $150 less than just the x1900xt by itself?

Yea, the x850xt is your best bet then. Its clocked at 520/540 btw.

Ok thanks. I mean I'm just trying to play BF2 on high settings with no lag for as little money as possible. Does the clock speed matter that much? I've heard that it matters a great deal and I've heard that it's just a number. Graphic cards confuse me sometimes :P

Yea, there is no clock speed of any gpu at 1450mhz. Honestly, i dont either.

Haha. I was just looking it up. The core clock on the x1900xt is 625mhz....the memory clock is at 1450mhz. Is that what he's talking about then? Who knows.
