I don't have another computer that I can try it in which is unlucky...

The wire isn't pushed agains the wall at all, it's got to bend to go the monitor, but it isn't bad.
It's running at 47c at the moment... I don't know when it's going to do it, so I can't really monitor it... The fan is spinning I can see it is.
I'll try the onboard video, ahh, it'll be horrible, thanks a lot for the help.

Or, if you have onboard graphics, run off that for an hour or two and see if you run into any issues.

I have that exact monitor and I've never seen any of our monitors (or other monitors for that fact) do that when dying. Normally they just pack up on the spot if it is in fact the monitor. I wouldn't put it down to the monitor.

Run an application that monitors your card temp
