Im wondering how old the computer is because a generic 375 watt power supply may mean that the computer is pretty old and its a possibility of the psu being dead thus overheating... But then again, she said everything boots up fine and later on it shuts down so im thinking dead PSU.

Not sure if this was mentioned already but the i7 860 wont be compatible with the bloodrage mobo because the sockets for the 860 require 1156 socket thus the bloodrage has the 1366 socket. As most people have said already, get the i7-920.

Try to stay away from Compaq (Com-Crash). I would learn how to build. Learning to build a computer will reward you in the long run even to the ones that know little. Knowing little is better than not knowing at all IMO.
