Crossfire ready MOBO's for core 2 duo?

Any 975X board will support crossfire.

    Older AGP = Less power?

I think the newer graphics interfaces provide less voltage, but the newer cards that fit in them still use more wattage. Pretty much what mrjack's post said.

Dark Messiah of Might & Magic Demo

I've never played oblivion, but from what I've heard, its nothing like it. Its more of a fantasy FPS with RPG elements in it. There isn't a whole non-linear world like oblivion, but the combat system is much deeper. It's not just hack and slash. Play the demo to see what I mean. I want to...

Dark Messiah of Might & Magic Demo

It's not being developed by Valve. It's being developed by Arkane and published by Ubisoft, it just uses the source engine and is being distributed by Steam (At least the multiplayer beta is, now the single-player demo is also, so I'd assume the full version will). Now there's an open...

Whats a good motherboard for Core 2 duo...

Sorry, C2D = Core 2 Duo, Intel's new processor series which comprises of Conroe (and Allendale) :) First off Merom is a mobile chip, just double checking to see that you meant Conroe/Allendale. To answer the rest of your question, as long as it meets your needs and isn't known to fail, yes...

Whats a good motherboard for Core 2 duo...

Pretty much every C2D motherboard can do that. Whats your budget?

How high can I safely go.

Its true that you can still kill a processor under liquid nitrogen, but it does effect it somewhat. Regardless, dont run it at 2.108V. Ever. No matter what cooling system you've got.

How high can I safely go.

For your processor? Hell no. It'll fry. The highest you want to go on air is 1.6 V, and even then I don't feel comfortable 24/7 at that voltage.

Dual core on non dual core

Actually it's the other way around, but it doesn't really matter because that has nothing to do with what we're talking about (once again, PC eye...).

    Brand Vs Product

Alot of times you'll find products from better known companies are essentialley the same as lesser known brands (like two PSU brands initially from the same manufacturer, or two different sets of RAM using the same ICs). So I pick product. I guess you can't really say the same thing about...

    Which mobo

The second one, the P5B has been getting insane FSB overclocks since the new BIOS. That and nvidia's nForce 4 Intel Editon was never that great.

    Interesting thought...

You can do that on most socket's, just not 775. The IHS is actually epoxied onto the core so you'll rip the core out if you take th IHS off. You need to heat it up to a certain temperature for the epoxy to melt, but it really isn't worth the effort. The biggest thing to whach out for is...

    Nvidia 7950 vs Ati X1950XTX

It's two seperate GPU's on two seperate PCBs, so really it's a double core graphics card.

    Fresh OS reinstall, now problems.

His board has memtest integrated in the BIOS, but either way he can't get past POST and into the BIOS so he can't really do... anything.

    Building WITHOUT a Case

If you really want to you could just stick all the parts ontop of your desk... it would run fine. Some people build a sort of open air workbench, but solutions like those are mostly meant for people who swap out compenents a couple of times per day. In theory it'll work, people build...

    Fresh OS reinstall, now problems.

I've got the same board, as you, and like you, mine hangs at the splash screen sometimes. I know this is gonna sound stupid but have you just waited for a while at the screen? Try booting with 1 stick of RAM also, or switching the two slots the RAM is in. The board can be screwy with RAM.

    socket 939 motherboard

DFI is still up there, but they haven't been putting out boards as good as their nForce 4 lanparty boards. Abit pretty much lost its enthusiast position once Oskar Wu left for DFI. Here?

    How does this build look?

    You'll need a different motherboard. Consider something like this: DFI INFINITY 975X Socket T -$184.99 Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 Conroe 2.4GHz -$360.00 G.SKILL 2GB (2 x 1GB) DDR2 800 -$249.99 MSI RX1900XT Radeon X1900XT -$274.99 after $100.00 MIR Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 320GB 7200 RPM...
