Building a New Computer $1000+/- range

Most people agree that Seasonic is the best, but I've never used one. I prefer Corsair, because they're a good brand and their customer service is second to none, should anything happen.

Building a New Computer $1000+/- range

I didn't say it was a bad build, just that the GPU wasn't the best match for the board. If you're building with single GPU in mind, find a board with single PCI-E, they're almost always cheaper. I apologize if my comment was taken negatively. :o I'd pass on that PSU. Kyleswitch has a point...

You might consider the X6 overkill, but hey, it's your monster. Without digging too deeply, I'd say you've got a strong build. :good:

That Green Hard Drive will KILL your performance. Get Black or Blue, or go Seagate.

    My first gaming computer build.

Honestly, for $10 more, I'd get this processor instead: Phenom II X4 925 Deneb 2.8GHz $129.99 Not sure if that's a typo or not, but that's a great price for a Phenom II X4.

    Building a Gaming Machine

DDR2 and DDR3 are the same price right now, and DDR3 already performs better. What's cost effective about using old hardware...? You could save money by choosing the Socket 1156 platform...

Right. I missed that, my apologies. The GTX 460 Superclock requires a 550 watt minimum. :o

    Help Build a computer

You are correct about the 32bit OS and RAM. If you're running 4GB or more RAM, you'll definitely want a 64bit OS. Just not XP. Seriously, with 4GB of RAM in this system, Vista x64 would be so fast you won't believe it. I used to hate Vista...until I used it for a while. :P But, if you're on...

    My first gaming computer build.

I wouldn't "skimp" on the power supply, but you can get a decent unit for a little less money. Any of these: CORSAIR 430W $44.99 SILVERSTONE 400W $48.99 Antec 400W $49.99 XCLIO GOODPOWER 500W $49.99 You could also get a smaller hard drive for now, and add another for storage later. Seagate...

    Help Build a computer

You'll be doing a huge disservice to any decent hardware by running XP x64. It's worse than Vista ever was in terms of compatibility. Yes, you could get a smaller hard drive, but you'll only save $10-20 really.

    graphics card

Compared to what? The GTX 460 is an excellent card, but I would choose a different brand. Personally, I would by this one. True, it's $20 more, but Free Shipping, and Lifetime Warranty... EVGA 01G-P3-1373-AR GeForce GTX 460 (Fermi) Superclocked EE 1GB $219.99

    need helpppp!!!

You can get any of the three speeds listed. If you buy DDR3 2000, you will have to tweak the BIOS to get it to run at that speed. Otherwise, it will run at 1066 or 1333. Honestly, why do you need 8GB of CAS6 RAM? Not worth the extra money unless you're an overclocker. Most people...
