Open it in a plain text editor. XML files are really suppose to be reader friendly. They are meant for use as configuration files, and other such things. You can try an XML reader like http://codebeautify.org/xmlviewer , though. Drop the XML text on the left side and then click "Tree View".

New Intel boards do indeed allow you to use a dedicated card and on-board at the same time. Obviously, though, the OP's AM2 board isn't going to support that.

Not entirely. He can back up all the data on the beginning drives, format those, and merge it with the C drive. According to the screen shot, that's only about 6GB of data. The only issue I see is the recovery partition. I don't know how that would fare as a backup and restore.
