    They support 32 bit and 64 bit. For example, right now I am using Windows XP Pro 32 bit edition, but I could run 64 bit if I wished.

    If you go 64Bit, at the moment you'll be running into compatibility issues all but too often, especially with hardware.

    You obviously don't have the neccessary service pack installed on your machine. Do you have automatic updates on?

    You don't need an 8000 series card.. Most 7000 series card's with DX9c will be fine.

    I live in Australia and realistically, a second hand dealer, I reckon you'd get no more than $400 for it. I'm not sure what that is in USD or whatever your currency is, but I'm too tired to convert it right now! But I'm sure you can do that.

    The Inspiron 1720 has a better CPU and GFX card.. Depends really though.. What do you intend on doing with your laptop?
