HT technology is what is used in Intel and AMD processors, its called hyper threading in Intel and Hyper Transport in AMD (i think). It makes the processor think it has two physical cores by like grouping information.

It's actually HT (Hyper-Threading) for Intel, and HTT (Hyper-Transport Technology) for AMD.

Wow according to the Inquirer the X1950XTX uses more power and is going to be better than a 7950GX2!

the only difference between X1950XTX and X1900XTX is memory speed.
X1950XTX memory used will be GDDR4 memory, and the memory will be clocked at 2000Mhz

I believe somtime this week, and it will not support dx10, we probably won't see dx10 support until vista is released, or going to be released almost immediately after.

everybody keeps b*tching about that 2 7900GTX in SLI is better than 1 7950GX2. Those two in sli ARE better than a STOCK 7950GX2. But...replace the stock cooling and use a watercooled system,and OC the card. They would be MUCH faster than 2 7900GTX ever could. And as for 2 X1900XTX crossfire...well isn't the name of this topic "2 7900GT's VS one 7950 GX2"? So ati shouldn't even be here...

No, then if you watercooled the 7900gtx's and ov'ed them they would beat the oc'ed 7950. The 7950 is two 7900gt's, compare that to two 7900gtx's, the gtx's will beat it my a ok amount.

it's actually 2 7900GTX not GT, so they will iether be both as fast or the GX2 will be faster because it has better sli capapilities than two seperate cards in SLI

2x 7900GT's is still only 256MB, unless you have two 512MB cards. Since SLI mirrors memory, you don't add them up.

2x 7900GTX's would outperform a 7950GX2, since they are clocked higher.

and in SLI doesn't make it magically 512-bit

i'm not arguing that it is... i'm not saying that its 2 7900GTs or that it is 2 7900GTXs... but the core is much more simalare to a 7900GTX than it is to a 7900GT...

I would assume so, seeing that a single 7959GX2 beats a single X1900xtx

The only reason the 7950 GX2 beats the xtx now is because most games dont take advantage of the advanced technology of the xtx. The xtx will be much better for future games and I dont think the gx2 did outperform it. But the gx2 in sli would be better than xtx in crossfire because ati hasnt really perfected crossfire yet. sli is better now.

Where the heck did I ever say that you add the ram together when you go sli. Someone just said it couldn't be 7900gt's because they would have to be 512mb, and all I said is taht they have 512MB versions of the 7900gt. READ ALL THE POSTS AND THEN RESPOND.

Yes, but you make it seem like you think that it is based off of an exclusive chip designed specifically for the 7900GT.
