CPU is 2.0Ghz stock, oc'd to 2.22Ghzskidude said:And how much did you OC?? Isnt the 3200+ stock at like 2.0 or 2.1?? And do you think it should be safe for me to do it with stock cooling?
and download ATI Tool to overclock your gpu, but dont forget to scan for artifacts.skidude said:Okay I'll push it a bit more and report back![]()
sounds good, and when you oc your gpu it takes a bit of trial and error to get the right memory and core speeds. What i do is raise it about 10Mhz at a time and then once i get artifacts, i lower it down 1-2Mhz a time until i dont get artifacts for several minutes.skidude said:I see... I'll do that. I'm at 1.9GHz right now with CPU, I'll go to 2.0GHz in a sec, but thats a far as Im going.
LOL, which is why geoff said ot oc a little bit at a time.skidude said:Holy god damn shit I OC'ed the vid card too much and my whole screen went into weird colors and shapes. I literally had a heart attack I tried to put it back but i couldnt see sh*t on my screen so I was getting worried and finally unplugged the card and put it back. Now it works. NEVER AGAIN WILL I OC MY VIDEO CARD! HOLY CRAP I THOUGHT I KILLED IT
if you had GPU recover enabled in ATI all you need to do is restart yout computer. And i said to overclock it slowrly and scan for artifacts so this wouldnt happen, lolskidude said:I did, it was going fine then all the sudden it happened. I hope to god I didnt damage it![]()
thats good to hear, and have you ran 3dmark to see a difference?skidude said:Okay, did a system resort just to be safe, tried out Quake 4 to make sure there is no damage, and thankfully it runs the same. Whew... The CPU OC went fine though, up to 2GHz now!
