biggest noob mistakes

Forgetting to replace a jumper on the HDD and troubleshooting it for a good long time before figuring it out.

And of course forgetting to plug in the PSU to the wall and trying to turn on the PC after it had been worked on/cleaned...numerous times unfortunately.

my biggest mistake was telling someone (who knew nothing about computers but use them) that i was good with computers.... cue getting a phonecall every couple of days about various pop-up and odd noises etc... i'm glad a got a new phone and didn't tell them i changed my number

I had that same thing happen during my first two years at college with a slighly different pretense and result. I fixed one of friend's computer who happened to be a resident in the biggest women's hall on campus, and then I got to go fix all of their computers... ;) That was a lot of fun!

As for dumb mistake, that would have to be working around in a case without unplugging it. You would have thought I would have learned my lesson after getting shocked by a 2500 watt spotlight, hehe bzzzzt!
