Right, I've got a Compiz.tar.gz file and I've extracted it to 'Home'
But I don't know how to install it?
Is that it, How do I do a new line?![]()
sudo apt-get install compiz compizconfig-settings-manager
so are you on the internet with your linux rig or not?
You can do it that way, but compiz fusion is already installed. All you need is just the manager to enable the "advanced effects".
Go to the terminal and type
And about your question earlier, you do not need a crossover cable, just a normal ethernet cable will work. Plug it into your other computer, then on your windows computer right click the active connection (the connections with internet) and share it. I dont remember what tab it is under exactly, but youll find it it a few. Then restart and you should now have internet on the xubuntu computer from the windows computer.
EDIT: O and a new line simply means press enter in the terminal.
Nope, On on my Windows Machine... I can't get the internet to work with the Linux lappy...
Would I need the internet for that?
Ah right, I'll see where I can get one
When I press enter it runs the command I just typed...
Go to System>>Preferences>>Appearance>>Visual Effects.
I am surprised you don't have a regular ethernet cable laying around
