Computer under $250

Is there a specific reason you can't buy from NewEgg? Just curious. I don't really have anything to add outside of that, except, do you already have an OS?

EDIT: I'm guessing you are going to go to the store to buy and can't buy online now that I look at the website you posted.

Notice there is no optical drive. I have $1,300 desktop and I
never use optical drive on it. Only time is during installation of
operating system.

Notice the hard-drive is only 40 GB. I plan to use the computer
for one game so I don't need more than that. Besides, I don't
like waiting 8 hours for my hard-drive to format when I am
installing OS (happened with my 500 GB).

By skipping on DVD-RW ($36.15) and 160 GB HDD ($56.50) I saved
$77.65.

I just do a Quick Format when installing.

Only takes a couple minutes.

What OS will you use if not Windows?

Ps. Bill makes the best OS around, so deal with it. :D

What OS are you running. When I installed Vista on my 500 Gb it only took all of about 30 seconds to reformat mine. IDK.

I was running installation for Ubuntu 64-bit and it required a format,
and that took 8 hours to complete. There might have been a faster
option available.

Ahh. Maybe Ubuntu doesn't have a Quick Format option.
I just assumed you were using Windows, sorry.

Your right on that one.. But I always use a vacuum when I don't want to take out the compressor and it always works fine, I haven't had any problem using it.. But yes its not a very good thing to do at all. The vacuum I use is Very strong, gets out all the dust just fine.
